Well, you remember that seaside cycle?
Here was our destination: Arne Jacobsen's petrol station. An odd choice, you might say, for sightseers on holiday, but this is not just any petrol station. Fantastically designed in the international style in 1938, this beauty exemplifies function and pure minimalist design. Nicknamed Paddehatten, 'The Mushroom', by way of it's unusual canopy; it has maintained complete service from the very beginning and not a single thing about the structure has changed, other than the pumps themselves, since it's inception on the seaside. Surrounded by a beautiful setting, it was quite the visual treat!
