Inspiration for the
Thoughtfully Modern

Cesca

February 24, 2016

another classic that warms my critiquing heart. the cesca chair by marcel breuer.

another instance of the industrialist and the craftsman playing the perfect companions.

designed in 1928, he uses his telling cantilevered tubular steel and clothes it in beautiful caning in a very few selected colour ways, which just happen to be my fave: natural, ebonized or the beautiful silver of beechwood.

you can't get more classic than that.

cheers to bauhaus; i was clearly born in the wrong era.
