CEILING LAMP NO.2
These ceiling lamps are the first design objects Fien Muller and Hannes Van Severen created as a design duo for an exhibition in Belgium at Valerie.
The lamps appear to be almost naive drawings materialized in the air, adding a playful line of color to the space. The design is utterly simple, consisting of nothing more than a bended and lackered steel tube and an archetypical lampshade on top. It is this sense of clarity that Muller Van Severen is renowned for. Just as their other furniture, the Ceiling Lamp creates space rather than filling it up.
Ceiling Lamp No.1 is one within a series, that includes three pendant lengths and two finishes: black and brass. Ceiling Lamp No. 1 is the "medium length", see versions No. 2 (longest length) and No. 3 (shortest length).

Muller Van Severen's love of materials is the starting point for many of their designs. They continually search for new ways to showcase the natural beauty of our materials and strive to let the materials speak for themselves, without concealing anything. The objects reflect our deep appreciation of the materials we use to create them.
The designers work with a variety of carefully selected materials, each of which has its own unique qualities. The techniques we use to craft our objects, the way materials age over time, and the and the tactile experience they provide are all deliberate choices.
